It's hard living through an apocalypse.

The evening/morning star, our planet Venus, has kept me good company on many mountain strolls.

The myth of Heracles, a.k.a. Hercules, is one of the first stories I remember reading as a little kid.

Gentle hand gesture give wild predator hugs.

With this artwork, I am interested in tracking the movement of the woman's arm geometry through time as they follow a bird's flight.

The image above is inspired by the Star tarot card, which often shows a woman pouring water into water and onto the land.

.. and sometimes, as I roamed, it seemed like the green was watching and aware of me too.

This is a dream image.

A #dream image that has stuck with me for years and pressed itself into my imagination.

My brother-in-law Steve and my sister Tonya have an action figure and toy collection to be proud of.

I recently made some owl artwork for HawkWatch International.

I call this "True Worlds".

It started a few months ago last spring with a pair of coyote I'd sometimes run into. I'd spot them up the hills. By the river.

I had a great time tonight at the Magic And Machine show at the Springville Museum!

I think I've finally finished this new artwork, called "Between the Trees". See the evolution of the idea.

Tall trees reach into the sky, branches creating new eye shapes for the moon to peek through with each step. These moon eyes became hypnotic, watching the moon watch me.

A psychopomp is a guide, an escort accompanying souls to the afterlife. They can also serve as guides through the various transitions of life.

Some new artwork, called the Emperor. I caught a vision of this chap one day while sitting and listening to a lecture, and I immediately had to draw the dude down.

The world has been getting stranger and stranger for a long time.

It’s easy for me to focus on drawing what is in my imagination, and forget to draw from life. It’s always a good and important exercise to draw the human figure, and draw what you see.

I was asked if I’d come up with some new artwork for HawkWatch International, so I said “Sure!”

You may also see that Nature also looks out through your eyes as well. We are all important pieces, helping complete creation.

I finished this here flock of birds

My interest in Cubism started long ago.

I started drawing these strange birds with sort-a human faces embedded into the feathers two or three years ago and have always meant to do more with the idea.

What goes on four legs at dawn, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?

I have been seeing a lot of crows lately. I learned a long time ago to pay attention to them.

Any opportunity to draw a beautiful bird is a good opportunity, especially if it helps promote raptor preservation.

The snake, the bird, and the trees all kind of merged into one image in my minds eye and became this caduceus drawing.

Branches and bark on his face and skin, leaves as his hair, with flowers and foliage growing out of his mouth.

Every year around this time I start to think about an old digital painting I did a few years back called “Maple”.

I think of these birds as fiery phoenix, circling around the woman’s head like souls or spirits, or maybe thoughts and ideas. Either way, they are waiting to take shape in this world.

I went to HawkWatch International’s event “Wings Across the West” up at Red Butte Garden this week.

I didn’t think that I’d be posting more of these birds so soon, but they’ve become an important part of a project I’m working on and am really excited about.

Thanks to everybody who came out to the Urban Arts Festival yesterday!

Birds are an especially powerful symbol for me. A link between heaven and earth.

The show celebrates everything fierce and frail about birds, as well as attempting to link humanity back to its animal roots.

Here is a new piece I finished recently called “Ghost in the Machine“.

The fine folk at Frisch have given me the opportunity to hang some artwork in their restaurant. It looks damn nice, I’ve got to say.

Another piece I finished a little earlier this week. I drew most of this using Adobe Ideas, but finished up in Illustrator.

The SLC White Party, hosted by the Utah Arts Alliance, will be an evening to remember.

Here is a picture that I finished last night. It is really a sketch for another idea I have brewing in my mind, but I think it also stands pretty well on its own as a finished piece too.

Music is another planet.

It has been a while, but it is always nice to take the time and draw from life.

Mind falls into the physical world, takes a look around, and lives a life.

I mentioned last week that I’d been thinking of self-publishing some of my work. Well, I’ve started by collecting a couple of series that I finished over the last year or so!

On my walk I came across a herd of deer maybe ten or twenty yards up above me, grazing near and running through the scrub oak.

Today I am posting a couple new Adobe Ideas drawings that I’ve recently finished.

If we let the domestic arts die, resurrection seems unlikely at this time.”

Imagination is something I made a few years ago, but has been on my mind a bit lately.

My artwork will be up through December, with a reception on December 7th from 6-7 pm.

Thursday night and into Friday afternoon I worked on the piece above for the Hive Gallery’s 24 Hour Show.

The Sunflowers are few years old by now, but they kind of suits the season. Plus I love sunflowers and bees.

A drawing was done on my iPad using Adobe Ideas.

There has always been some weird power struggle between art and craft.
